densa escoa sob a menos densa e diminuindo no caso contr{\'a}rio.
ABSTRACT: In the present work its studied the problem of a
compressible binary mixing layer of oxygen and hydrogen without
heat sources and chemical reaction, subsonic and with body forces.
This study is performed using two distinct methodologies. The
first use the linear stability theory (LST) to derive a new
equation for the pertubation that relates the compressibility and
the buoyancy force. Once the equation was found a shooting method
code was written to find the solution in a temporal and
bidimensional analisys. The problem is also aborded using a direct
numeric simulation (DNS) to solve the full Naviers-Stokes equation
using a fourth order finite difference for the spatial
discretization and a fourth order Runge-Kutta for the temporal
integration. The simulation is for the total flow, meaning that
its simulated the base flow with the pertubation, in a temporal
analysis, which allows to see the growth of the pertubation until
the full formation of the Kelvin-Helmholtz vortices. A brief scale
analysis is performed to find out the range of the non-dimensional
numbers used in the problem. It was noted using the LST code that
the effect of the buoyancy is more significant for problems with
convective Mach of the order of 0.01 and could be neglected for a
value higher than 0,2. It was also noted that the configuration of
the species change the effect of the buoyancy on the pertubation
only when the buoyancy is relevant, having a disturbing effect
effect when the heavier species flows over the ligher, and a
damper effect for the opposite case. Also is show the damping
effect caused by the raise of the compressibility that also causes
a decrease of the wavenumber responsible for the highest
amplificaton rate, that completelly differs form the effect of the
buoyancy, where independt of the configuration, a raise of the
relevance of the buoyancy causes a increase of the wavenumber
responsible for the maximum amplificatioon rate. The amplification
rate find it using the good agreement with the LST code, and it is
shown the difference of time needed to different cases fully
developed the Kelvin-Helmholtz vortices. At last its studied the
vicous effect in the problem, showing that this is also an
amortization effect for the pertubation.",
